Impossible Pumpkin Pie

Image
Well....it smelled good when I put all the ingredients in the blender. I was wary because the pie seems to be crustless... and traditionally, crust is an important part of pie. I baked it for the prescribed amount of time and let it sit for a couple hours. Overall, it's kinda a weird consistency and a bit eggy. All was made better by a massive portion of whipped cream on top. Wouldn't recommend this one. It is impossible.

Rice Krispie Treats

No picture of this one, we ate them too quickly. Homemade Rice Krispie Treats are always better than store bought. Although, I felt like there was too much vanilla in this recipe. Maybe I poured a little heavy?

Hawaiian Pulled Pork

I struggled with this one. Actually made this while mom and dad were here for Adam's birthday. I tried to just let the pork sit with the smoke but it just didn't seem like enough. Decided to add a large amount of salt to the recipe.... I'm not sure that was an excellent idea.

Microwave Caramel Corn

Always a hit with the kids. It's awfully addicting.

Cherry Salad

Image
Cherry salad is really Cherry jell-o. It's full of sugar, nice sweet pudding/cool whip topping. Definitely a winner around here.

Broccoli Cheese Casserole

Image
Oh this casserole! I haven't had Cheez Whiz for probably 25 years! It was actually hard to find! I had to go to 3 different grocery stores to find it and at that time it was on the Hispanic foods section! Look, this recipe has the potential to be yummy. However, the Cheez Whiz HAS GOT TO GO! It made the entire dish taste like plastic. I'll try again with shredded Colby-Jack or something.

Cowboy Cookies

Image
Cowboy Cookies? Yes, please.

Chicken and Stuffing Casserole

Image
Chicken and Stuffing Casserole is like a college meal at it's finest. It appears that you bothered to cook something, but it's super easy and full of salt. My kids LOVE it.

Orange Rolls

Image
Orange Rolls from Grandma Haskett. These were tasty, we ate them on Easter this year. We definitely make again. One note: Recipe says to bake for 20 minutes, but gives no temperature.

Sister Edward's Frozen Fruit Salad

Image
Okay. I definitely didn't make this one correctly. It turned out really weird. Granted, the directions weren't super clear. I mean, it didn't even say when to add the pecans.... so I spread them on top. I felt like it never really "set". Maybe I didn't whip the cream long enough? Probably won't be attempting this one again.

Veggie Bars

Always a hit. Made this the same evening as the Luscious Lemon Poke Cake.

Luscious Lemon Poke Cake

Image
I have mixed feelings about this one. It sounds delicious, and I served it to friends who came over for a game night. However, I found the lemon jell-o kinda coagulated and didn't evenly distribute between the cake. It left it kinda gummy in areas.  As you can see, this didn't stop us from eating the cake😊

Mom's Coffee Cake

Image
This is the only evidence I have of this coffee cake. I have loved this coffee cake FOREVER. It was one of my favorite Sunday morning breakfasts while growing up. I've made it made over a dozen times since I got married. I'll admit, I double the struessel topping. So good. On this occasion my Father-in-law was visiting for brunch and I made it to feed him. He had seconds.

Applesauce Cake

Image
Applesauce Cake was for dinner this night 🤦‍♀️. Delicious and heavy! We frosted with a cream cheese frosting that put it over the top! Will make this one again.

White Bread

Image
Um, yum! This recipe is a keeper, I'm sad I haven't made it before now. Makes delicious, soft, hearty bread in the middle with a great crispy crust. The flavor was great too, not too sweet or yeasty.  I made this bread and ate it as Tuna Melts on the same day. So good.

Hot Cranberry Drink

Image
Hot Cranberry Drink! This was made on a "cold" Arizona day in January. It was also the same day we got Rosie, our dog! More than anything else, this drink makes the house smell DIVINE! I actually let the left-overs it sit on the stovetop overnight just to make the house smell awesome.  I enjoyed this drink more than the kids, I think it was a little too grown-up for them, although even they said it was a bit too sugary. Next time I'd add more water.

Fresh Lemonade

This is Maddie making some fresh lemonade.

Dutch Oven Cherry Cobbler

Image
I don't actually own a Dutch Oven so I used a cast iron pot and made this in my oven.  Super tasty, the kids loved it!
