15 years ago our mother gave us a family cook book for Christmas. This blog is our gift to our mother for 2019. We are 4 daughters cooking our mother's recipes, passing down instructions to our kids with reviews of how it all actually tastes. Enjoy!

GRAND KIDS LOVED IT!!! This was a fun and easy activity to do with the kids. They had fun making all kinds of things. The plastic bag to incorporate the color worked very well so our hands didn't turn colors.

I decided to combine 2 recipes at one time. We made homemade vanilla chocolate chip ice cream and put it into a cookie pie shell. First off GET GOOD PIE SHELLS!!!! I just found 2 that were chocolate but they were not good so it took away from the flavor. When the slices were dished up I covered them in hot fudge and Carmel. It was better ice cream plain than in the pie shell. We did enjoy making it and sharing it with the grand kids.
Well....it smelled good when I put all the ingredients in the blender. I was wary because the pie seems to be crustless... and traditionally, crust is an important part of pie. I baked it for the prescribed amount of time and let it sit for a couple hours. Overall, it's kinda a weird consistency and a bit eggy. All was made better by a massive portion of whipped cream on top. Wouldn't recommend this one. It is impossible.
This is Carol Shirts Orange Monkey Bread. We did not like it at all! It tasted like butter and dough. This is not one we will make again. I will stick to the standard monkey bread.
